Rwandan and Israeli defense ministries Wednesday conducted a one-day seminar on border protection in Rwanda’s capital Kigali.

The seminar was jointly organized by the two ministries for officials from Rwandan security forces, including army, police and Rwanda Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration.

The seminar provided opportunity for Israeli participants to discuss with their Rwandan counterparts, share lessons and experiences and come up with strategies to better defend people, Rwanda’s Minister of Defense Albert Murasira said in a statement by the ministry of defense.

Israeli Ambassador to Rwanda Ron Adam commended the existing warm relationship between Israel and Rwanda, adding that the seminar was another step towards strengthening bilateral cooperation, according to the statement.

The goal of the seminar was to strengthen mutual cooperation, identify the needs and advise on the best strategy and technological solutions for the benefits of Rwanda and Israel, said the head of the Israel delegation, Yair Kulas.

Participants shared knowledge and experience on different aspects, including cross-border security, maritime, land and air security as well as airport security. Enditem
